That Itch...Time to Scratch.

Last night I couldn't sleep. I looked at the clock, showing me it was after 2 am. I listened to Faiyaz's deep breathing. I'd already agreed to get up with Anjali in the morning and let him sleep in since he's been getting up at 5. Meanwhile my thoughts were racing.

I am now committed to finished the editing of my novel before the new baby comes in December. I need to do the third draft, with some major changes, on my own, then get both Faiyaz and my grandmother to read it and give comments. At that point I'm also going to need to have a website up and running with bio info and an exert from the novel...and a nice picture that doesn't make me look fat (better take that picture now, huh?) Then I've got to find a literary agent, preferably mainstream. I need to get to the looking for an agent point before the new baby comes. That is my goal. I have less than five months.

My writing has always gone this way. Sometimes I write because I write and I have to keep writing, and other times I get the itch. This compelling feeling that I have to be working frantically. It is what drove me to the completion of the first draft of this novel. I was diligently writing daily, working at a steady pace, when suddenly I had an "itch".

So now I have another itch. My house is going to be filthy by the time this is over.

I'm really interested in reading your book! What is it about in a nutshell?

There is a little 18 month old in the branch named Flora Mae(I think that's how she spells it)...
